1.3 How It Works

This course is broken into 12 lessons. Each topic is devoted to making you a safer, more defensive driver. Some laws and driving techniques you will be familiar with, while others you may have forgotten. It is always a good idea to refresh your knowledge of traffic laws and safety precautions, so that you can be the best driver possible.

Even though you are taking this course online, you must pay attention to the material being covered and be mentally present. If you do not, or just skim through it in order to take the unit quiz, you very well may miss important topics which will be on the final examination.

Complete at Your Own Pace

You can complete this course at your own pace. We provide unlimited log in’s so you do not have to complete the course in one session. You can log out at any time and we will automatically save your place.

Complete the Course Requirements

In order to successfully complete this course, you must complete each unit. You must pass the end of unit quiz with a score of at least 70% to be able to move on to the next unit.

Pass Final Exam

The final exam consists of 25 multiple choice and true/false questions. You will be given 60 minutes to successfully complete it. The final exam is “open book”, meaning you may go back through the course at any time to review any information you may need to refresh yourself with. To successfully pass the final, a score of at least 70% is required.

The DMV allows students two attempts to pass the final exam. Many of our students pass the final the first time. However, if the student fails the exam twice, they may retake the course either with our school or another school. No refunds will be given if you fail the final exam twice.

Course Evaluation

After the final exam you will be asked to complete a DMV course evaluation form. Although you only are required to provide your first and last name, we strongly encourage you to fill the form out in its entirety. Our staff, along with the DMV, value your feedback. Your satisfaction with our course is a main objective for us, and your feedback will allow us to provide the most effective learning environment for our students.
